Lexington Democratic Club Statement on Mayor Adams

PURSUANT TO THE CONSTITUTION OF THE LEXINGTON DEMOCRATIC CLUB, THE FOLLOWING STATEMENT ON THE STATUS OF MAYOR ERIC ADAMS IS PROMULGATED

Mayor Eric Adams’ ability to represent the interests of New Yorkers has become irreparably compromised by the efforts of the United States Department of Justice in offering to forego and/or delay his non-partisan prosecution in unabashed exchange for Mayor Adams’ “cooperation” with federal immigration enforcement. Accordingly, with the threat of re-filed criminal charges looming, Mayor Adams will be unable to place New Yorkers’ interests above his own in the execution of his mayoral duties. Mayor Adams can no longer be entrusted with the fair and impartial execution of his position as Mayor. 

The Lexington Democratic Club therefore calls for Mayor Adams’ resignation from the office of Mayor of the City of New York.
